Production of Valve Levers with Low Batches and Limited Runs
Request
To manufacture a range of levers for ball valves, keeping in mind that the productions would be repetitive but with only a few hundred pieces per item.
Solution
Given the need to produce around ten different items, the main goal was to find a balance between low-cost production and not investing excessively in equipment. First, we analyzed the production forecasts for all items with the client and estimated equipment costs to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of stamping compared to alternative processes like laser cutting, which do not require molds. After careful analysis, we proposed a solution involving two molds: one for bending and one for adjustable stamping, both equipped with interchangeable punches that allowed us to produce all required dimensions.
Client benefits
With this solution, our client was able to produce all their items with a low investment, allowing them to recoup their investment quickly and save compared to more expensive techniques such as laser cutting or water jet cutting. The client also needed to plastify and mark the levers’ handles. By working with us, they benefited from comprehensive support, from initial design to full production of the parts. This approach resulted in significant time and cost savings and ensured a single point of contact for any needs or information regarding all aspects of the product’s processing.
